Configure Exotel and check call readiness
Save your workspace's voice connection, verify the provider, and check readiness before live calls.
Before you start
Configuration access, your workspace's Exotel account details, and an administrator for your voice deployment.
Open the Connection tab
Select Configure on AI Voice / Exotel. Check Calling mode and Account location / region. Simulation mode does not place mobile calls.
Review account and deployment details
Enter the credentials and caller details for this workspace's Exotel account. Have your administrator confirm the public API and voice WebSocket settings for your deployment if these need to be specified.
Save the configuration
Choose Save Exotel settings. Unsaved changes must be saved before connection checks become available.
Run both checks
Choose Check Exotel connection, then Check call readiness. Review any issues reported for configuration and speech engines. These checks do not place a call.
Review the calling workflow
Review Conversation & calls and Incoming calls as appropriate. Module-specific AI Voice settings are available under Module Builder → Communications. Test only with a recipient you are authorised to call.
What success looks like
The provider connection and readiness checks pass for the intended calling mode. Verify an actual call separately when your live setup is ready.
If something goes wrong
- Save pending changes before running checks.
- If account connection fails, check the account region and provider credentials.
- If connection passes but readiness fails, follow the reported configuration or speech-engine issue with your deployment administrator.
